I'm headed going on the Constellation over Thanksgiving. Is X still running the Cirque shows? If so, are they worth it and should I go? Also, do you think a 6 and an 11 year old will like it?

They are still running the White Night masked ball on one or two nights, but there is no show as you might have been led to expect. I think it is based on the lighting effects and decorations, and the interactions with several fantasy individuals in costume. You are not required to have a mask for this event, as they will have face painting or other effects at the entrance. The event would be much too sophisticated for the youngsters. We didn't attend ourselves, but fellow passengers were of mixed opinions about the quality of the experience.

Are the curtains & seating still covering the views or have they somehow been removed?

Just off Constellation transatlantic. The curtains and beds are still in place blocking the views. Personally I think it is the biggest mistake Celebrity has ever made. Just my opinion - I am sure there are those that love it.

You are correct in that it is not a show it is an "experience". The experience is limited to those over the age of 18 and are at unusual times such as 10:47 PM. I took some pictures which I will have to post. I really couldn't believe they had about a dozen beds with drapes and canopies around them blocking the full front of the bar.

We were on Constellation this summer and went to the White Nights ball. For what it's worth, we were bored silly and kept waiting for it to get better - it never did and we left. Then, figuring it had to be us, we tried the "experience" again a few nights later. That's when we knew for sure it wasn't us - it was about as entertaining as watching grass grow.
The original plan was to have Cirque on all four M-class ships but according to what we were told by one the Cirque performers, passenger response has been luke warm at best so Celebrity has opted not to introduce it on Millenium or Infinity.
Not sure which of the "suits" at the home office made the decision to bring Cirque onto Celebrity ships, but judging from the responses over the months on this board and others, I'm willing to bet he/she has had a lot of explaining to do.

I don't have a brochure, so I don't know what date are listed. However, you can check travel web sites (Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity ...) and see what dates are listed. If the one you want is listed, you can book it.

Just got off Summit. We didn't go to the CDS show, didn't talk with anyone who did. It was certainly not the "buzz" on the ship. The lounge looks plain"silly" if you ask me. X did not seem to push the CDS, and gave us no reason to want to try it.

The latest Iv'e heard on the C.D.S,is that it is already off the Summit and will be off the
Constellation from the middle of November {pity as we sail on the 29th of October}.

I believe the management haven't given up entirely and could bring it back in a
different format

Thanks for that post, Becker. I checked with Celebrity about our Nov. 10 cruise and they checked it out. There will NOT be a Cirque du Soleil "experience" on our ship. I hope they rip them thar curtains down and bring back the lounge as it was! I've been on Connie twice and this is my third cruise on her. I did not like the concept and after reading countless reviews, many agreed.

'Tis time to celebrate!

No more Cirque du Soleil. Last one on November 10. On 21 cruises I never saw it, so I don't need to see it now
