Clothes Iron in Cabins?

My wife was wondering are there clothes irons in the cabins of the Grand Princess? If not can you get on from the cabin steward? My wife will be lost without one. Maybe we will just go purchase a small travel iron. More junk to take you know.

Travel irons are frowned upon as they are a safety hazard. On the Sunclass I know there is a laundry room with a full size iron and board which I had no lineup to use. Hopefully someone will comment on laundry facilities on the Grand. A steamer is another use for in your room. Do a search on steamers and you will get results and recommendations.

For cottons, try the new Downy wrinklefree spray so you can get out into the sun faster without the household drudgery!!

The laundry rooms on the Grand have irons & ironing boards all set up. No charge, very convenient, and usually no waiting. There are rooms on multiple decks too, so you can go up or down to another one.

LOL, Just visualizing my wife in the public laundry room on the Grand ironing away in her bra and panties, like she usually does at home. Funny, that might cause a scene, guess she will have get used to a week of ironing with some clothes on. Thanks for the help.

She can use the laundryroom on the Grand or she can bring a travel steamer with her like I do and then she can steam away in whatever she wants to wear :lol

I now have both a steamer and a bottle of Downy Wrinkle Releaser in my dedicated "cruise bag." Both work very well, and there's no need to leave the stateroom just to get ready for dinner. I'm sure your wife will feel much more comfortable in her undies as she preapres for the evening's festivities - problem solved! Enjoy your cruise.

Please advise what type of travel steamer works best? I purchased a Rowenta steamer and it does not do an adequate job and it is bulky and heavy. I chose Rowenta because my Rowenta iron works well. Thanks for your response.

Re: irons in state-rooms

we have sailed on both yhe grand and golden==irons are not allowed in your state-room==in the laundry room will be 2 or 3 irons and boards==they are not allowed in you room and in fact if you try to use one will blow a fuse---do not try it===the william

William Carson,
I was on the Grand and used my travel steamer almost every day with no problem at all. No the cruise lines do not want you to bring irons etc. but on 18 cruises I have had no problem using my steamer. I leave it out after I use it so it can cool down and it is on the desk/table in full view of anyone that enters the cabin.
As far as what brand to buy that is really a personal thing, but I use one from Brookstone. I have had it for years and it has really been great.

I put steamer in the search here....Sunbeam seems to be popular and another thread said it was available at Target:
