Coffee on the Caribbean Princess?

We are coffee drinkers & were wondering if the coffee on the ship is good. We thought the coffee on Carnival was really good if anyone can compare. This is our first cruise with Princess. When I say "good", I mean strong coffee! We are from Louisiana & are used to coffee with a little "stiffness".

The coffee on the CP is the same as the rest of the Princess fleet... BAAADD!!! The coffee up in the Horizon Court is not to bad in the morning, but the dining room coffee anytime, is as bad as it gets.. Tastes like it's been sitting there all day.. Many threads have been written and many complaints sent to Princess, but they are reluctant to change.. They have hot water at the beverage stations in case you have a favorite instant coffee you'd like to bring. I've seen a few people go that route.. Good Luck and Happy Sailing... Bombero

Most cruise lines use syrup rather than grounds. Basically, it's already-made coffee, reduced to the consistency of molasses, then reconstituted when "brewed." As with anything else, some are better than others. Having never sailed Princess, I'm tempted to bring my own coffee pot. Hopefully, the carafe will survive the short flight to FLL.

:wave I am definately a coffee drinker. In my experience on Princess i have thoroughly enjoyed the coffee in the dining rooms and found it be very good. In all fairness i don't think we should include a whole fleet of ships in our conclusions based on a particular ship. I realize it's really a matter of to each his or her own opinion and taste. The coffee is alright in the Horizon Court IMO. I wouldn't consider dragging a coffee pot along with me. But then again, that's me. Just my humble =twocents worth ! Happy cruising everyone ! =bigwave =bigwave =bigwave =bigwave

Hi Teeree.. Just so there's no confusion, I stand on my first reply that the CP, as well as the other Princess ships have terrible coffee. I've been on 4 of Princess's ships and found the coffee to be consistantly bad, so I'm not making my decison based on one ship.. However, my taste in coffee may differ from yours or other peoples, so I guess you will have to decide for yourself.. Happy sailing.. Bombero

Yes, coffee is a very subjective subject! I do think the coffee could be better. Here is a thought I had but I haven't tried it. Bring a small jar of Espresso (instant) and add a 1/2 teaspoon to the coffee if it isn't strong enough. What do you think?????

Hi Teere,

I agree with bombero that the coffee is bad.

We need good coffee to start our day off right.

We purchased a two cup maker at Wallmart in Fort Lauderdale. It came with two stainless steel cups ( no glass carafe).

We set it up the night before bed time. In the morning we just had to press a button.

No need to wait for room service. Excellent coffee whenever we wanted it.

It is now part of our cruise kit.

Cheers,
Zip
