Fabulous Connie! I swear, I really think you should become a professional nature photographer. You could make a book out of some of the spectacular photos. I'm sure others here agree. I always enjoy viewing your pictures. We don't have Buffalo or Elk here. Thanks for sharing.

I agree, Maureen.

Connie, you are a fabulous photographer. Looking at your photos is one of the highlights for me when I check threads here.

And I always love photos of your kitties. Speaking of kitties, have you seen the little stray any more?

Great photos Connie! Hopefully you were using the zoom, and obeying that 100 foot rule! :)

=COOL Those are really cool photos. may I ask what type of camera you use?
I have a Nikon & a Panasonic digital. Been a bit out of practice lately.
But when we cruise {was IF now WHEN} I will use the digital camera.

Is that a national Park near your home? Beautiful area.

Lovely shots! Thanks for the nature lesson. There is nothing like that here.

This is a St Loouis County Park. They named it lone Elk park because years ago they found a single elk on the property. It was made a park in the 70s and they brought in animals. They used to have long horn sheep, also, don't know where they went. Mostly it is deer, elk and buffalo. I have seen a coyote there, plus numerous birds and small mammals. They also have a bird sanctuary, I have posted photos from there in the past. The main part of the place is down a steep hill, inaccessable for us handicapped people. I have complained to them about that.

My camera is the Sony DSC H7, just came out in June. It has a 15x zoom on it so I can keep the 100 feet away and still get good shots. Altho, some were closer, I just did't get out of the car.

:thumb If you did not get out of the car to take those shots, then you
have a real gift! I was surprised that they came from a local park. Kinda
always thought of St.Louis being being strictly urban. Then MO has rural
areas. {Forgotten my geography}.

I really think the shots are WONDERFUL. :)P)

St Louis is Urban, but we have lots of nature in the county. Beautiful countryside. Can't wait to take fall pictures with the new camera.

We have loads of parks, but Lone Elk is my favorite. Yes, all the photos were from the car.
