We recently (Feb 1st/04) cruised on the RCL's Radiance and there was also 8 of us. My suggestion
would be to discuss your excursions and try to have that all organized before you go. Big time saver.
On our trip shopping became a big priority ( not sure why). Suggestion - decide before you go who wants to shop and if all of you decide to go then break up into groups of 4 max. Big time waster trying to keep 8 people together while shopping.
Since we had cruised before we left our group (al 1st timers) and did our own excursion to St. Johns. We had a great afternoon by ourselves. We all had dinner together which was fantastic. But for breakfast and evening activities we broke into groups of 4 - the same people each time as we had more in common.
We all had a great time and would cruise as a group again but not worry about always being together.
No doubt you will also have a fabulous time and be ready to book your second cruise immediately.
Thanks for the advice. I think since we vary in age excursions might be slpit. We are all scheduled to eat together as far as I know. Is formal night VERY FORMAL . My husband said, he is not wearing a suit. Do you think he can get by?
