Forever Remembered
I just had a long, and lovely, conversation with Connie!
She had gone into respiratory failure, thus the tube down her throat prohibiting her from talking. [She said she would have died without the help of that tube.] She said she was very heavily sedated, hands chained to the bed, and was in a twilight zone for two weeks. She said it was a terrifying period. Her son explained to her what had happened.
At any rate, her breathing obviously is better, she said her heart is good, she's having only minor blips in her blood pressure (falling too low), the swelling in her legs is down to about half what it had been.
She may be transferred to a rehab facility on Monday, but is not at all pleased that it's in St. Charles when there are many such facilities in St. Louis.
She appreciates all the cards, prayers and good wishes from @ddicts. She loves the "breathing kitty" I sent her, and it's on her bed table. She got in trouble once because a nurse thought it was alive.
She asked me to tell the @ddicts (and Bruin Steve) that she still has another 100 "Where in the World's" to post when she returns to the Board.
Her son called her from her house yesterday, and Connie could hear Maxie meowing loudly. She had BJ put the phone on the floor, speakerphone on. Maxie heard her voice and began rubbing his head up against the phone. Awwwww.
When you can read this, Connie - God bless, continue quickly and without problems on your road to recovery.
