Has anyone booked a dolphin swim not with the cruise line? Saw people said the cruise one is very crowded. Who did you book it through? How did it go? If you booked with the Carnival, how was it? Thanks, pat

we did the dolphin encounter in Oct. while on the Conquest. We booked it on our own at "dolphindiscovery.com" They have a 1-800 # or you can reserve on line. The only draw back is that you have to pay for your own transportation there(taxi-$10 for 4) plus entry to the park $10 per person. The experience was fun except it rained the day we were there. They won't cancel due to weather.

Carnival did not offer the dolphin encounter when we went. That was why we booked on our own.

Have fun it is a great experience.

Thanks so very much!! My Mom is facinated with dalphins, will check out dolphindiscovery.com. On-line says Conquest offers this too. Won't take a chance on not being able to do this. Thanks again. PG Anyone else have ideas on dolphins?

PLG not sure when you are sailing. Book it however as soon as you can. It sells out. I booked mine thru cozumelinsider.com as the cruiseline didn't offer the swim only the encounter.
By booking it on your own you do have to pay for the taxi and enterance fee. If you booked it thru the cruiseline double check if you have to pay for the taxi ride back additional or if that is included.

Just an fyi, there is a difference between the enounter and the swim(royal swim). We did the swim and it was the highlight of the cruise for my dh. If mom is fascinated with dolphins and in good health, to me the swim is a "must do". The encounter might suffice but the swim offers much more and worth the additional money.

Suer,
Leaving 4/4, will surely be a full ship as this is spring for us associated with public schools(teacher). Thanks for information, I wanted a swim, not encounter. My parents are in their seventies and are in great shape too. How far ahead did you book these? Before you left I assume? I haven't booked yet, I am waiting to get a little closer to the departure date (90 day) in hopes of getting a cut on the price. I did this last year and got a better rate, but still booked over 2 months ahead. Aren't fussy about where I sleep, especially buying 4 tickets on teachers salary. We spent almost no time in room except for sleep and married couple stuff :couple .
Will try to contact both soon :pc.
Thanks again, Pat

PLG,
I tried to book the Dolphin Swin at dolphindiscovery.com for 3/11/04. The time that we wanted was already full. We are on the waiting list. You might want to go ahead and contact them now. Good luck and have fun!

I also went ahead and booked through dolphindiscovery.com. They will not charge your card until you get there and show it to them. I suggest anyone to go ahead and schedule it, you can always cancel 48hrs in advance.
