We are booked on the Conquest 12/4/05 and have room 6323 balcony and would like to know if this is a good cabin. I know it is close to the being over the casino. Also are we on the wrong side of the ship to see the docking in ports and such. Any advice would be nice. This is our first cruise so I was just hoping it's a decent room. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as we are on the ship but would like to know ahead of time. Also I read months ago about bringing a clothes pin or something like that for the shower curtain is this still a must. Also a bungee cord for the door.

Docking in Port depends on the captain. In one port you will be facing the port-- in another port you will be facing away. So picking a port side cabin for that reason just dont work any longer.

Any cabin on a cruise ship sure beats staying in a room at home any time.

Well, we just returned from our shortened Conquest trip yesterday. If I can remember everything correctly, you will be on the starboard side of the ship and yse, you are pretty close to being above the casino. I never heard any noise from other floors, but we had a ship that seemed less than half full. When we got to Progresso on Thursday the port side was facing shore and dock, and same with Cozumel on Friday. However, there were 3 other ships in port with us in Cozumel (Carnival Miracle and RC Mariner of the Seas & Rhapsdy of the Seas). The Rhapsody had backed and had the starboard side facing shore.

One good thing about your room is that you are only 1 level from the Promanade and can use the stairs rather than waiting on elevators....seemed like there were only 2 or 3 (Main elevators) ever operating on our ship the whole cruise. Oh well, the exercise just kept me from gaining as much weight as I would have otherwise.

Hope this helps.
