I know, it is a bit far off yet but I was just curious if anyone else is booked for a spring cruise like us on the Conquest!

Wow! Someone else is going!!! :lol

We also sailed the Inspiration in March of 2002, it was our first cruise. We didn't care for Montego Bay that much, but we loved Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Last year we sailed on Grandeur out of New Orleans. It was a nice ship, but we got a crowded feeling at the pools. Excited to be going back to Carnival but nervous about a ship this big! What did you do for shore excursions in Montego Bay? We did the Rose Great Hall (haunted house).

Welcome aboard Southerngal. Have a question. My wife and I usally sail in Nov. This will be our first in the spring. Can anybody tell us what the kid rate might be? we have some people that have asked us and we have no idea on what to tell them. They are thinking about booking one in the spring themselves and where wandering, so I thought I would ask. Nanni you mentioned a haunted house the Rose Great House. Who did you book that with and where can I find so info. I have looked around and cannot find any and it looks as if Carnival does not offer this tour. What can you tell me?southerngal wrote:

Hello Southerngal! Glad to see you are among us too!

Hi Randy! I don't remember exactly what I paid anymore but somewhere around 699 per kid for a Cat 8A balcony.

We booked all of our tours through the ship in 2002, Inspiraiton, which was the year we did the Rose Great House, or was it Rose Great Hall. Something like that. It included a 30 minute van ride (SCARY DRIVING!) but takes you past the ocean which was nice. You did get some sort of a 'witches brew" alcoholic beverage. The shopping they took you through afterward was not worth doing. I don't even remember what it cost, but I know it was one of the more inexpensive tours. We also did the Mayan Tulum tour that year and that was very expensive, and not that great of a thrill for a 5 and 10 year old. And it was incredibly humid that day too!

Nanni B, I must have not been clear on my question, about kid rate. ( after reading my post I guess you answered what I wrote) LOL What I meant is Are there a lot of young spring breakers, collage and high school age or just a lot of familes with kids. We have some friends that are thinking about a cruise in march and they asked us and we had no answer. How do you compare the ships that you have been on? pros and cons?

We have gone a week earlier both years and there really were not alot of college/high school students that we noticed. In fact, there didn't seem like many small children in my daughters Camp Carnival program. But I noticed that our rates for the week we are on the Conquest were a dash higher than the rest of the month because it is considered 'Spring Break' so I really have no idea what is in store for us :wink

We just like to make sure that whenever we go, that our anniversary is somewhere in that week!

Actually, this will be my 3rd western caribbean cruise. I would definitely recommend The Falls, and Chankanab. The taxi drivers can be really scary the way they argue over who is going to transport you. Also, Margaritaville is good to visit.

My first cruise was Norwegian out of Miami on the Seaward. The 2nd was Carnival Paradise out of Miami. So, this will be the first time I've sailed from New Orleans.
