This is the very first time that my husband and I are taking a cruise. We are planning to go the week of Oct. 16th and right now are trying to deside between the Conquest and the Valor. We are in our upper twenties and lower thirties. Does anyone have any information on these two cruises that will help us deside? What about the weather in the western Carb. in Oct.? Things to do ect? Any info is greatly appreciated!

I think I might be a little biased since I'm booked on the Valor. I compared them when I booked and the Valor just seemed a really good fit for my husband and I (both of us are mid 20's). I think it might be because it's a newer ship. The Valor itinerary is:

Sunday - Embark
Monday - Day at sea
Tuesday - Belize
Wednesday - Honduras
Thursday - Grand Cayman
Friday - Cozumel
Saturday - Day at sea
Sunday - Disembark

For the Conquest, it goes to:

Sunday - Embark
Monday - Day at sea
Tuesday - Day at sea
Wednesday - Jamaica
Thursday - Grand Cayman
Friday - Cozumel
Saturday - Day at sea
Sunday - Disembark

As you can see, the conquest has 3 sea days, and the Valor only has 2. For an inside stateroom on Conquest it is $649.00 and on Valor it is $799.00. And of course Airfare may make a difference to you.

I went on the Conquest during my Honeymoon, and we loved it, but if the ships are the same then I would go with the ports that you would rather do.

We also went on oct 16,2004 and the weather was great!

Thanks, I think that we have desided to swittch and go on the Valor. When we started looking we could get the plane tickets so much cheaper into New Orleans than into Miami, but now they are different everyday. I think that we would rather stop at 4 places than 3. Now I am just waiting to get my time approved off of work. I am a teacher and they don't like to approve time off during the school year. I am praying because since I found this site I am super obsessed to go on a cruise.

Jillenae -

Take your class on the cruise. Then you will end up getting paid to go on the cruise! How =coolsign is that? :)

I'm not sure that it would be a vacation with 30 6th graders at my every step!

By the time lunch is over on the first full day, they will not be following you around. :lol
Besides, if you are getting paid, it is not going to be like a vacation anyway. :)

Let's see....

Snorkeling Horsehoe Reef in Belize....Sounds like Phys. Ed.
Dolphin Encounter in Roatan....Sounds like Science/Zoology
Shopping in Grand Cayman....Sounds like Math.
Talking with the locals on Cozumel....Sounds like Spanish class.

I think it sounds like school to me. I say you present this to the school board and see if they will approve this as an "extended" field trip.

Hi,

No matter which ship you sail on, we are certain you will become addicted to cruising. When Jerry and I sailed on the Valor in April 2005, we felt there was more motion than we had experienced on other ships. Also, there seemed to be more standing in line than other equally sized ships. Other than that we throughly enjoyed our cruise and are certain you will also.

Can't imagine anything better than cruising on the Conquest. We loved it.
We had a balcony room (vacationstogo.com) and it was perfect!
Loved the food, loved the waiters and other staff - entertainment was great --- the ports were really secondary to us since we loved being on the ship so much.
We chose by departure port - drove to New Orleans from Dallas.

We cruised the Valor in May of this year and had a great time on the ship. We had a group of 14 people ranging in age from 3 to 50 somethings and everyone had a great time. As for shore excursions we did the zoo in Belize, the semi-sub in Honduras, and the combination tour [turtle farm, hell, and stingrays] in Grand Cayman. Everyone that went with us on the combination tour agreed that it was the best part of the cruise. A couple of people in our group did the party boat in Cozumel and had a great time. I hope this information helps. You can also check out carnival's web sight to find out which tours you would like to do and book them in advance so you are guarenteed reservations. We did this and our shore excursion tickets were in our cabins when we borded the ship. Have a great time.
