Hello! We will be taking our first cruise ever on Carnival Conquest June 7-14, 2009. We are SO EXCITED!!! My question is, will/can Carnival remove the balcony dividers between suites? My husband & I and my parents have booked to Category 11 staterooms right next door to each other. We were hoping that we could combine the balconies so that we wouldn't have to go thru the hallway to visit while we're in our cabins. My parents had mentioned that they could do this on Princess, but we didn't know about Carnival, and the Conquest specifically. Thanks everyone!

Wish I could help with a for sure answer. I have heard yes and I have heard no. I know that some of the policies and procedures on balcony cabins changed after the Star Princess fire. Not sure if that affected removing the partitions or not. Hopefully somebody will post a for sure answer for ya.

All I can tell you is that if you want the partition opened, ask your room steward immediately. I've read that on some Carnival ships, they open the door, and use some kind of hardware to bolt it in the open position. The amount of hardware available is limited, therefore the number of cabins that can have their partitions open is also limited. Which is why some people get a yes answer, and some get a no, when they ask to have it opened.

I don't know if this is true of all the ships, or even specifically for the Conquest, but is for some. So be forewarned to make that first on your list of "to do" 's when you get to your cabin.

I've sailed the Conquest 4 times and the answer is "YES" you can open the dividers between the cabin balconies.

It makes it just that much nicer! You'll need to ask the room steward and he can open it.

Have a fun trip!
