We will more than likely be sailing the Conquest this March. I have not done alot of research as to the actual size/class of ship comparing the Voyager with Conquest. Is the Conquest as big as Voyager passenger wise and tonage wise? Anyone out there ever been on both and have comparsions?

The Conquest is 110,000 tons...so not quite as big as the Voyager, but is is in Carnival's biggest class of ships.

I have sailed on both and think that they are both excellent ships. Voyager is considerably bigger, and of course has the rock climbing wall, skating rink, roller blade track ,mini golf, etc that Conquest does not have.

My preference is for the Voyager class ships overall because our family loves the wide range of activities available. But Conquest is a wonderful ship too. Very large, lots of public rooms, and in my opinion the food on Carnival is probably a bit better than on RCI.

I have been on the Explorer of the Seas, which is the same class as Voyager. It was big and took a long t ime to figure out. We are going on the conquest in January. I have been on the 70,000 of carnival. I would tell more once I go. I presume conquest is not that much smaller, since it is only 30,000 difference.

Until the Conquest!!!

I've sailed on both VOYAGER and CONQUEST. From a ship perspective, VOYAGER wins hands down. There is just no comparison. Better pool areas, nicer gym/spa, more elegant restaurant, ice skating, in-line skating, miniature golf, Royal Promenade, parades, Johnny Rockets, etc. ...... the list goes on and on. It's truly hard if not impossible to top a Voyager Class ship in the 7-day Caribbean market.

Also, VOYAGER seems MUCH less crowded than CONQUEST. Besides VOYAGER having a much better design and passenger flow, the ship also has a superior space ratio. VOYAGER is 137,280 grt and carries 3114 passengers (lower occupancy). That gives her an excellent space ratio of 44.0.

CONQUEST is 110,000 grt and carries 2974 passengers (lower occupancy). That gives her a space ratio of 36.9. Almost 10 points less, and that figure increases when you add in 3rd/4th berths to each ship.

One thing I really did not like about CONQUEST was that Carnival decided to put the teen disco/club right in the heart of the adult promenade. This meant that teens and kids were hanging out day and night into the wee hours on the main promenade. In fact, they seemed to take over it on occasion also going to the adult bars all the time to order sodas with their soda cards. I never seemed to be able to get away from all the kids. Onboard VOYAGER, the kids and teen clubs are located near the top deck, far away from all the other adult activities and I never encountered problems with being overrun by children and teens.

This being said, if you choose CONQUEST you will have an excellent time. She is a beautiful ship and the I think the food and service was far superior to VOYAGER. The problem is, VOYAGER was superior in just about every other aspect.

I recently posted some pictures from CONQUEST (I cruised on 7/20) and they can be found here:

Hope you found this helpful.
