I am looking to share a 2 day Red October tour in St. Petersberg. The 1st day there will be 2 (maybe 4) of us and the 2nd day there will be 4 people. Also, does anyone know much about the trip to Moscow for the day? Only 6 more months!

HI!
My friend and I will be on that cruise and we too are considering seeing St. Petersburg outside the cruise ship tour.
Can you please furnish me with some information about what you had in mind?
Although this will be our first Celebrity cruise, we have made several in recent years with Cunard.
We are interested in art, history, architecture and "soaking up the sights."
I am a retired newspaper editor and still write a travel column for our local newspaper.

I just heard from Nikita. Hope you received his e-mail that I forwarded to you. You should use the Russian Embassy to get your Visa. By phone out of New York if I remember correctly.
Hope the charges in the attachments came out. Just compare them to your ships tour.

Eight of us from Plant City FL plan to be on this cruise, and are digging up inof. Best yet was Scapel's multi-page report from his 2000 cruise. Sounds like booking excursions with local agents is cheaper than the ship's office. Waiting to hear from Red October.
Haven't found anything yet about Rostock-Berlin excursion, other than Celebrity's , and we want to do that one. Already booked Normandy.
Looking forward to hearing from y'all. Ted

Try the above link for Berlin tours. We are considering this for two of us on the July 31st Constellation trip with the same itinerary

Also are considering DenRus for St. Petersburg as you don't need to apply for a visa. They are a government sanctioned tourist agency and that covers you.

I am looking at several different tour groups in St. Petersburg.
There will be two of us. We would be happy to share a car or a van for four or for six passengers. We would also like a night at the opera or ballet.

Let's get acquainted and share information, to see if we would like to tour together. E-mail me at JRose10700@AOL.com, or answer here.
My friend and I are interested in art, architecture, history and old churches and cathedrals. We like to keep shopping at a minimum. Hey, we can buy stuff at home -- we want to see, see, see what is different!

We might also consider some other tours not with Celebrity. We have made several cruises and have travelled extensively on four continents.

Hope to hear from you.

Thanks, thomaseu, for the link to Berlin, which I'll try.
Do you have an e-mail for DenRus? I wasn't successful on a web address

Email address for DenRus:

OlgaT@denrus.ru

She will send a catalog via email attachment which is terrific. We had thought of going on a one-day tour and resting the next day. But after seeing the information and the suggested two-day tour [you can devise your own tours], we decided to go for the two days with them. It will cost about the same for 2 days with a van for the 4 of us as the ship excursion for 1 day on a bus. They even send menu examples. Good luck!

We are sailing on the July 31 Constellation to Northern Europe and Russia. DenRus takes care of all the details; visas included.
