Just been notified that the port of Dublin has been eliminated from our British Isles itinerary in July, 2004. No explanation. Tour bookings refunded.

Maggie:

We received the following email notice from Shorex on May 14.

"Dear Guests, We regret to inform you that the Constellation has had an itinerary change, so the vessel will no longer visit the port of Dublin, Ireland due to this change."

The Celebrity website then changed their itinerary showing "a day at sea" in place of Dublin. Now, I just checked the site again, and it shows "Belfast, Nothern Ireland" in place of Dublin.

Anything you find out, please post.

Ed

P.S. No shore excursions for Belfast are available yet (5-20-'04)

Hey...
I called my travel agent this morning as soon as I read your post and she said she didn't know anything about it. I would love to know why the stop was changed, I wanted to see Dublin. I just got home from work a short bit ago and the web site now does indeed list Belfast as well as excursions...including one to Dublin.....
You're the first I've encountered that will be on this cruise, I was beginning to wonder about how full a ship it'll be!

From what I understand on the Sept 7 cruise, the reason I was given is that the water depth is not deep enough. They have not dredged the port. I asked "What about tenders" and the answer to that was I don't know. "I don't know" usually translates into money.

I booked July 2005 on the Jewel and they said Dublin was too shallow and RCCL and Celebrity were changing to Belfast.

I have a cruise booked on Constellation feb12 05. Anyone know if the ports have been changed since some of the islands have incurred severe hurricaine damage.
