We are taking our first Princess cruise on the Coral, 9/30/03. I'd like any info on the ship, ports and anyone else who will be sailing that date also. We have a balcony cabin on Emerald aft...anyone know if they are covered? We are very excited about this trip. We've been on Norwegian before and loved it. Any tips to make this trip extra special would be appreciated, as this is our honeymoon trip. Thanks

Tips? Pack an over-the-door shoe organizer and put all your bathroom stuff in it so you have more counter space in the bathroom. Cabin stewards love it when they can get in there and clean quickly without moving a ton of junk.

Neatest thing I ever bought for cruising was a telescoping mirror that sticks with suction cups to the vanity mirror. I can actually get close enough to see what I'm doing when I put make-up on!

Make a photocopy of your passport (size it down) and have it laminated. Keep a copy with you when in port.

Bring your own hairdryer if you're picky about power.

I'm guessing your balcony will be half covered, half open. Expect more noise, vibration and movement in an aft cabin.

Rent a tux if you plan on doing both formal nights to save on packing space.

If you like soft drinks, get a Coke Card on the first day. It gives you unlimited fountain soft drinks for the cruise. If you drink 2-3 a day, it pays for itself.

We won't be sailing on your date, but on 4/1. We've been trying to figure out shore excursions too. They're pretty costly. I've heard bad things about the Aerial Tram and good things about the Panama Railway, but don't pay extra for the dome observation car - it gets really hot, even with a/c.

If you hear of any tips, let me know! Have the vacation of a lifetime!! Oh, and best wishes! :wave

We have been on a couple of cruises before and totally loved them. I called and was able to move to a cabin on the Dolphin deck forward to hopefully get away from the extra engine noise and vibration, as you mentioned in your reply. I will get the over-the-door shoe holder as you suggested...what a great idea. Thanks for the tips.

You'll get more pitching in the front, but at least you won't get the noise and vibration like you do in the aft cabins. Wish we were cruising so soon!! Have a GREAT time! :)
