Costumes for Halloween

My wife and I are going to be on the Splendor over Halloween celebrating our anniversary (yes we got married on Halloween). But we began wondering if there is any sort of Halloween activities such as a costume contest on the ship, or whether or not dressing up is encouraged. We have yet to receive an intinerary and figured that we wouldn't probably end up getting one until a couple months before the cruise, but has anybody been on a Carnival cruise over Halloween that could pass along what may have happened in the past?

Thanks for the link Michael. It sounds like a lot of fun. There are actually six of us (three couples) that are going to be on that ship over Halloween. So I guess the question now is what to dress up as.

Went last year on the Elation; dressed as Elvis, and DD was the wicked witch of the west. Costumes were encouraged and Halloween actually fell on formal night. It was a hoot, and seeing as I was Elvis, I got hit on a lot, lol.
