Dear cruiseliners, do you have any suggestions, BEST DEALS concerning transportation to explore the island, F&B, things to do / don´t do, souvenirs, watersports etc. We like to organize our island-trips on our own.
We are looking forward to our first caribbean cruise with the “Navigator of the Seas†on May 3rd for 7 days.
Thanks for your help…!!!

I assume your ship will dock in the town of San MIguel. Onyx chess sets are $16 and onyx windchimes are $2.50. Pack them between clothes and they'll make it home just fine. For swimming there is Mr. Sanchos, Playa del Sol and Chankanaab Park. Check recent post for Park info. Mr. Sanchos is free. There are 5 little stores there. There are tables, chairs, shade, inexpensive food and drink and a water trampoline. There arerestrooms. I think there are showers.

We had our kids with us....ages 12,11,9, and 8.

We rented a minivan($116 total), and went to El Mirador (natural bridge) , Coconuts for lunch (great nachos and fries!), then into town to fill up the gas tank, then to Mr. Sanchos to lay on the beach and relax. After we turned the car in we did some shopping at the pier for an hour or so. It was a great day. If we could do it over again we would have hired a taxi. We did not like driving in Cozumel. Mainly because we do not speak spanish and if we got pulled over we would have been at a major disadvantage. It is a nice island and we plan on going back next year.
