Hubby and I are sailing on The Grand Princess on Feb.23. We were closed out of the Dolphin Swim. Boo hoo! Wondering what else we should do in Cozumel. Any great suggestions would be most appreciated. We don't want to spend the day on a bus going to the Mayan ruins. Thank you.

In Chankanaab Park, just south of the piers, they offer a Dolphin swim/encounter. Check into that, see if there are any openings. That park is also a nice way to spend some time, including good snorkeling. We rented a jeep and did our own tour of the entire island, that was a lot of fun. Theres some smaller ruins in the center of the island, a lighthouse in a national park at the south end. Carlos and Charlies is a hot spot. Do a search on the net for Cozumel, theres several good sites that offer info including maps.

Ren1216, thank you for the info. Unfortunately,we were closed out of that Dolphin Swim too. I know we don't want to rent a car so if you have any other suggestions please let me know and thanks again.

Did you look up www.cozumelinsider.com they may have other dolphin encounters on the island I am not sure.

Chankanaab really is a nioce park you can snorkle and they have some dolphin and sealion shows. They also have a sea lion experience.

It is really easy to get around by taxi We also found shopping in town to be alot of fun and relatively inexpensive. My kids can't wait to go back to the island!!!!!!

Good luck and have a great trip

Hey there!
I'm here to get your hopes up about the Dolphin Encounter Experience at Chak.Park. My family was there about 2 years ago and risked it by not signing up for the tour with the cruise ship but instead hailed a taxi and drove to the park. Once you're there you can put your name on a waiting list and depending on how many people you have with you -you should be able to get in...I think they take about 6people at a time and we had 6 people with us so our chances were pretty slim, but they will try to fit you in.
So don't loose hope, get your name on the list....there's always cancellations and last minute openings...and if you don't get in you can always check out the park, it's awesome and unforgettable.
Hope this helps!!!
