Anyone else get a notice in the mail that you are entitled to a refund for overcharges made by credit card companies for overseas purchases from (I think) 1998 to 2006? You can either document your purchases or get a flat one time payment of $25. How many people do you know get their credit card receipts from 10 years ago?????

Got the notice. Filed option 2 online. Couldn't find anything about having to have receipt. Transactions would be on cc record.

I heard about that on TV, but have not gotten the letter, yet. Altho, my big purchase was made on St Thomas, so maybe that is not foreign. They said on TV purchases in the Caribbean.

Got the letter. As I understand, it's for 3% of your overseas purchases. So, if you bought $833.33, or less, option #1 is the best way to go. The other options appear to be labor intensive (documentation, etc.). We'll probably just go for the quick $25.00.

We also received the letter, and will likely go for the $25. Few of our travel purchases were made with the "eligible cards."
