HEy all,

Got a letter in the mail today that RCCL is offering a Youth Loyalty Program. THis is so the kids can reep the benefits that the parents get. It is a really nice program and can be signed up at any time. It does not matter what level the parents are in. Looks like a great idea in the making. To sign up go to www.royalcaribbean.com/youth

I always wondered about my kids and the cruises they went on before they went on their own.......can they count those?

I believe that they can. I think that you can indicate that when you sign up. Or when they sign up for a regular membership.

Yes, they can and always have. Before, once your kids turned 18, you simply called RCI's C&A number. They assigned your kids (now considered adults), a number and the amount of cruises they had completed up to that point. So, if your kids had completed 5 cruises, they would automatically be at the Platinum Level once they are 18. (This is the same for almost every cruise line.)

Not that much has changed now. They issue the kids a C&A number earlier now, give them a few little things and keep track of the cruises. It's a nice touch though.

I am hoping to get my kids up to the Diamond Level within the next year, so my oldest will have that status when he's 18 & the youngest will at 16. From what I understand about the new program, as long as your kids live at your address, they will get credit for your cruises, even if they aren't on them! :thumb

Whoa back up this ship! Any of the cruises my husband and I went on while my kids stayed home (under 18) they can get cruise credit on?

They'll get credit for cruises you have been on and they haven't until they are 18 yrs of age, when their membership is determined by their actual cruise sailings.

The reason for this is that the coupon booklets for youth its pretty much a joke, and RCL won't blow much $ away.

Furthermore, before the initiation of the youth program, children under 18 could use priority lounges accompanied by their parents anyway.

I called crown and anchor and signed both my girls up. It's not their age that matters it's there address. I have one in college but her permanent address is my home and one that is leaving for college in the fall. They both were signed up and received credits for all of my cruises and the ones they were on and will continue to do so while they are under my roof. COOL!

I'm going to check the comment which I made earlier. I called RCCL today, and the Youth member WILL RETAIN the status level achieved by their parents even when they turn 18.

For example, if a minor's parent has achieved 10 cruise credits (Diamond) but the Youth has only received 2 cruise credits (technically should count as Gold), that minor WILL STILL REMAIN a DIAMOND member AFTER AGE 18, even if only 2 cruise credits are under his or her belt.

Hope this clarifies some aspects of this new program.

So, when my son goes away to college and keeps our home address as his own, he'll still be earning cruise credits for cruises we're taking.

I see this becoming a huge problem in about 10 years. There will be WAY too many Diamond & Diamond Plus C&A members!! I suppose RCI will decrease the benefits then? :?

After he turns 18, he'll still be a Diamond or Diamond PLUS member, (whichever you are), but won't be earning additional credits obtained by your cruises.
