Hi,

My husband, daughter in law (15), sister, brother-in-law, and niece (13) and I will also be on this cruise. I have a mini suite and am trying to decide whether to upgrade to a suie. This will be for just my hubby and myself I called Princess and the suites are booking really fast. I am waiting for the excusions to open up on their website. I have no idea what I am going to do on the islands, but I like to explore.

We booked the mini-suite in February.

For the excursions, so much to do so little time to do it.

St. Thomas will be our 4th time, we were thinking of going to St. John's by ferry.
Grenada, our 2nd time. I want to see Fort Frederick and buy loads of saffran.
St. Kitts, 2 excursions on my list - walking tour of Basseterre come back to ship and leave an hour later on a Best of St. Kitts.
Bonaire - island tour
Aruba - ABC's of Aruba.

Hi gang -

Are we getting excited? It's just 44 more days 'til we cruise - woo hoo!!!

I've just about decided on shore excursions, although I could still use some help/input on some of them.

St Thomas - we're joining a group that's chartered a catamaran for a day trip to St John

St Kitts - Scenic Railway - this sounds really cool, and will still leave us time for a little shopping/beach/beach bar afterwards.

Grenada - I'm thinking I'd like to arrange a private tour of some rum distilleries and perhaps a nutmeg processing station, and then end up at Grande Anse beach.

Bonaire - hubby and friend's hubby will likely go land-sailing, while my friend and I hit a beach and do some shore snorkeling - maybe from Eden Beach

Aruba - hubby and friend's hubby will play golf, while friend and I take a taxi to Palm Beach to hang out for the day.

How does this sound? Does anyone have other suggestions for Bonaire or Aruba? I know they're famous for diving, but I don't dive, and I don't love snorkeling enough to make it an all-day affair. Basically, we're just wanting to chill out and relax as much as possible.

Hope you're all well - and I hope we can meet sometime on the ship!

Hi,

We booked the ATV Adventure in Aruba and the Scenic Highlights in Grenada. Bonaire we may just venture out on our own. We have not decided about St Kitts.
The ship seems preety full with only waitlists appearing for many cabins.I am very glad we booked early. I wanted to upgrade our mini suite but it looks as if thats not going to happen. I will just have to bear with the open balcony.
I hope to chat with you all soon.

Take Care,

Kim

Hi guys -

I've heard that our sailing is sold out - so much for any upgrades... actually, I'm thrilled with my cabin selection - a balcony on the Carib deck. I understand the balcony is quite large (9x9 ft), and is half-covered, and half-open to the decks above - sounds perfect to me!

We may be out of luck for the land-sailing on Bonaire. All 60 slots on Princess.com are sold out (it's showing as waitlisted), and when I contacted the vendor directly, he said that he gives all of his slots to Princess when they have a ship in port. So - DH and friend's DH may be forced to have a beach day with us!

I'm still researching Grenada - and have a couple of leads on private tours that would hit a rum distillery or two, the market St George's, an authentic lunch somewhere (curried lobster sounds wonderful!), and then a drop off/pick up from a beach. I get really carsick on hilly, winding roads (the mainstay of Grenada), so I'm trying not to stray too far from port. If anyone's interested in joining us, let me know - it looks like we can get this for around $25-$28 per person for a half-day tour...

I'm so excited that it's October - that means our cruise is finally "next month" - woo hoo!!

CROWN PRINCESS - April 5, 2008

My wife and I are sailing out of San Juan on April 5 on the Crown Princess. This will be our first cruise with Princess, but we are seasoned passengers having sailed on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL previously.

Is there anyone else out there planning to go on this cruise?

For those of you who have sailed on this ship before, do you have any suggestions about how to make the best of our voyage on this ship and ports? Should we consider balcony dining, Sabatini's or the Crown Grill or just stick with the dining rooms and buffet?

Thanks
