Crown Princess or Freedom

I posted on the know before you go forum but got little response. I have a 9
day cruise booked on the crown leaving NY in August. I wanted to go on the Freedom
but the price was around the same and I would have to fly and it was a 7day. I am
from NY and have three kids 8, 8,4. I went on the navigator and loved it last year. My
kids loved it they said it was the best vacation ever. The crown does look beautiful
but the Freedom looks more child friendly. I know I'm posting on the RC forum but
was wondering the folks that have been on both lines should I switch and fly?
Thank you.

i am from NJ, and last year my family and i flew done to san juan to go on the adventure, we could have just gone on the voyager out of NJ, yes if you switch to the freedom you will lose a couple of days but think of it this way, you are loseing a couple of days on the ship but in away you are getting another place to see with miami, when i came time to pick our cruise out this year my family was in the same situation as you and we chose to go back down to the Adventure since loved it last year and know we are going to have a good time, from what i know i think the freedom has more to do, so if it was up to me i would go on the freedom

Freedom will definitely be more costly. You lose two days of cruising plus the air fair to Miami. That being said, you would have the opportunity to go on RCCL's newest ship. RCCL will have more children because Princess limits the number of children per cruise, I believe, RCCL has always been more of a "family line" whereas Pricess has made great strides on their Grand Class and larger ships. I prefer Princess' food over RCCLand Princess' availability of anytime dining or the traditional. But, if just looking at it for my children's sake and the extra cost wasn't a major factor, I would most likely do the Freedom.
