Cruise Discount

Sailing on the Inspiration on February 9th. At time of booking thought I got a great price of $499.00/person for an inside cabin. Now I see on a discount cruise website the rate is $379.00/person for an inside cabin and $487.00 for an oceanview. At the time they upgraded us to the best available cabin which is the upper deck. I thought by booking directly with Carnival I would get the best price. Can anything be done?

Call Carnival and speak with a rep and nicely bring to their attention the price difference and ask if you could perhaps get an upgrade or an on-board credit.

VacationstoGo.com was $379.00 for an inside cabin and $487.00 for an outside cabin. I also saw another one at cruisebrotherscom for $399.00

It looks like the proice you booked was through Carnival and the price you're comparing against now is from a websit.e. Just rmeember to check to see if the website is include taxes / port charges in the price. That could be the $120.00 difference right there. I only mention this because I got excited about a really low price I saw on the web until I realized that I hat to tack on an extra $100+ for the port charges. Hope you get your discount!

Vacations to Go does include port charges in all their web site pricing. I booked with them for my 12/01 Spirit cruise and a co-worker used them for her 12/02 Grand Princess. Taxes are always added on any cruise line web site or a .com

We had a similar experience booking the Triumph. We booked a guarantee outside cabin last February for a cruise a couple of weeks ago. About two weeks before the cruise the price dropped by about $50 per person. I booked through CruiseShopping.com and contacted them but they said Carnival absolutely refused to give an upgrade or a refund. They said it was like booking a lowcost ticket on the airlines. Once you buy it, you buy it. However, I noticed there was a balcony guarantee rate available for about $50 more than I had paid. This was still a really great price. Carnival did let me pay the difference and upgrade, and it was well worth it.

Good luck
