Cruise Personalizer/Excursions Troubles?

Is anyone else having trouble booking excursions? I was happily choosing and booking a week ago when everything suddently went crazy. Now the excursions just keep coming up as Not Available. You'd think Princess would be able to correct a systems problem within a week.

Pat - I just checked our 2 bookings today and had exactly the same problem. It says the shore excursions are "not available" but it had our 3 tours booked and showed them right under "not available"!! Maybe they're doing an update and that's why it's reading that way?

Thanks for checking, so now I know it's not just our bookings or just our cruise.

A customer-satisfaction system being down for an entire week doesn't seem reasonable to me. Our IT people get complaints before their allocated 24-hour window for system adjustments is closed one day of each month.

I think I'm coming down with something because I started imagining a totally sold out situation, a possible terrorist-related cancellation of the cruise, etc.

:lol Actually, I was glad to see your post because I was wondering what was going on too. Guess we'll have to keep our eyes on it and hopefully, they'll get it fixed soon. Glad I got the shore excursions we wanted in there already.

Are you sailing around the time we are? Maybe they're printing the pre-cruise stuff and don't want any additions while it's being done?

This is only a guess. But it might help make sense of your issues. Before Christmas
Princess did a web site upgrade (which seemed to cause more problems than it fixed).
Anyway those of us with linked or back to back cruises couldn't access our cruise personalizer's. Finally about a week ago we could access everything. But it says things
on it weren't complete. When I called Princess they said that everything was completed
and we'd been approved for "express check in". Whoopee! From what I hear it dose not
always help. Whatever... Call Princess. May be they fixed our problem and created a new one. Oh! Does it ever give you a code and then a number when the error occurs. Somethimes that helps when you get the questions as to what happened if it did give you a code unless it just says incomplete.

Are you all aware that Princess only allows bookings of shore excursions within 60 days of sailing? Says this right on the Princess web site. Yes, I know some have been able to enter requests for tours outside that time frame but with their computer system, I wouldn't expect these tours to "stay put" on the Personalizer.
If your cruising in April, still loads of time to book.

Cdnguy - I know the website says 60 days, but it's not really true. I booked about 100 days out from the sail date and know many people who have done the same over the past 8 months for different ships. (see my post about it and responses)

Actually, the Princess website says now that you can book excursions 120 days out. Since we are within that window, we are going to schedule soon.

Lady Jag your right. Just came back here to correct myself but you beat me to it. Sorry about that.
Love Princess but I wish they would say things consistent throughout their pages.

As I said, earlier today Princess.com was saying one thing and Personalizer was saying something else.

Confusing, isn't it? :dizzy I guess it pays to check every once in awhile to see if it'll let you book them. I'm just glad Princess lets you book ahead of time online and that they don't make you pay for the shore excursions when you book them like RCI does. :)

I was hoping their upgrade would take care of the continuous problems that ALWAYS existed with the OLD system. Guess NOT unfortunatly. :(

I called Princess yesterday about the web site land tour problems. It does say on their web site in a couple of places that you can book 120 days in advance. It also says in a different location that you can only book 60 days in advance. After a lengthy discussion with the rep and many holds while she consulted her technical staff the answer was that it is only 60 days in advance and that they intend to correct the web site sometime in the future. She advised me to try within the 60 day period and get back to them if I still had problems. As for those who did book more than 60 days out, she had no explanation for that.

I just went to their web site and guess what, it let me in to prereserve the land tours. Well so much for Princess' explanation. I guess you just keep trying.

...the only problem I seem to have with the Personalizer is that it still shows me in the same cabin.....no upgrade! ;~)

How about help to complain about safety issues on excursions. We had a life theatening experience on the Ocean to Ocean tour on the Feb 1 Coral Princess to the Panama Canal. Would like some help on who to contact for restitution. Thanks!

Hi Karen. What was your life threatening experience? I am on the Coral Princess April 11 and plan on taking that excursion.
