My hubby and I are going on another cruise in April 2006, this time with the kids, aged 15 (boy) and 16 (girl) on the Carnival Celebration...are there things for the kids to do, what do they need to wear to dining room? Any help greatly appreciated...

Carnival has a very good program for the under 18 crowd. However, I am not familar with the teen program on the Celebration (which would be very similar to the teen program on the Holiday). As for dress, your teenagers should wear something similar to what you are wearing.

We just returned from our 4 night on the Elation with our FIVE children (16, 15, 14, 13 &10) the 3 oldest (boys) stuck togehter and enjoyed themselves immensely doing whateve they wanted; i hung out with the girls a bit, and we did hair, etc. and participated in whichever activities we wanted. my youngest enjoyed camp carnival again this year. As for as dress in the dinning room, ALL of my children dressed appropriately as requested. Hope this helps. Have fun :) Sophie

LAST Easter we sailed on the Legend , my wife and 15 yr old son. He wore a sport coat and cacky pants on formal nights. and had the time of his life meeting and hanging out with other kids his age. One of the biggest surprises for my wife and I was to check the pictures after formal night and actually find my son, all dressed up, with 2 girls on his shoulders, a BIG grin from ear to ear. Of course we bought the picture. Your kids will love it!

Suggestions-- have early dining so the kids can particiapate in activities. Most activities are happening during late dining so the kids miss out on a lot of programs.

There will be a teen meeting the first night. its VERY important that the kids head to this meeting. It makes it easier to meet kids their own age the first night then during the week.

We told our kids what was expected of them before we went. Dinners were mandatory, (its theonly time we seen them--(except when they were sleeping and port days)

no going to anyones cabin for any reason-- they are still strangers. telephones in all cabins do have voice mail that can be activiated using any public telephone on the ship. (makes a great check in device.
