Anyone ever book through them? They seem to have good prices on the Dawn sailings, but I am not familiar with them.

We've booked with them 3 times over the past 6 years. Like all agencies, they have pros and cons. Just wanted to let you all know some of the things we encountered with them so you're aware.

If you book online, you will not get your price lowered if the cruise line lowers their price. Say, for instance, your cabin price drops by $500. You won't ever see that money - CVC gets it.

Another negative with them - they keep docs forever. Our last cruise with them had our docs sitting in their infamous "Doc Dept" for 6 weeks. It really bugged me, to say the least. They are so overly busy that they can't get to them as they should. They do have some outside agents that get the docs out sooner, but the cruises booked through the office will have their docs sitting around forever.

They have a cancellation fee. We paid $200 for a cancelled cruise. They said it was a credit, but we've never booked another 7 night cruise with them, so there sits our $200.

They have a high turn-over of TAs. We had a terrific one, but she left. Since then, we've had about 3 others, none of which were that great.

BTW - My TA can usually beat CVC's price by about $150-$250 for a family of 4.

Positives:

I love their website. It's easy to use and is a great source of a 'base' price when pricing cruises.

They are huge, massive and do a ton of volume. They know the business.
