Cruising on the Miracle in September, a couple questions

My wife, 26 month old son, and I will be cruising on the Miracle out of New York on Septmebr 4th. I have cruised twice before and my wife once, but we have not cruised with our son yet. We are looking for some advice.

We plan on utilizing the on board day care at times. My son does go to day care now. Are there any helpful hints we should know? Stuff to watch out for?

We will be visitng Nassau, Grand Turk, and Half Moon Cay. Are there any recommended excursion to do with a two year old?

Also any additional info on Half Moon Cay, I understand it's a private island, but could you just go and hang out on the beach?

Any info would be appreciated.

Hi, My advise is to make sure your son has an I.D. bracelet put on his wrist by the Carnival staff. If he gets lost for any reason.... he can be traced to your name and cabin. I think the bracelet just has a bar code on it. Most kids don't know their last names.

Kids that are 2yrs. old have the bad habit of just running off to look at something so you always have to walk looking down at the kid's level.

I have seen many families having a wonderful time with their tiny tots kids on cruise ships.
I know you will have a wonderful time too.

Pack his favorite blankie and soft toys. I always pack a pillow case from home to sleep on to remind me of home.lol.

Carnival has some wonderful soft toys to buy him to have fun with. Kids love the dolphin toys.

If you can swing it get a cabana on Half Moon Cay, it makes for a great beach day for the adults and the toddler. The cabana's go quickly so as soon as you get on board go to the excursion desk and get in line for one. The shade is wonderful for the little ones nap time so you don't have to tender back early, the cabana will come with snacks, drinks, towels, floats and snorkel equipment for the adults. The cabana will make the most of your beautiful day at the beach. Grand Turk is another beach day, or you can spend it by the Margaritaville pool. Nassau with a toddler I would say maybe go to the Atlantis and do the aquarium, souvenier shop in Nassau, maybe a horse carriage ride to sight see, there is also a beach close to the Atlantis that you could spend time at. I hope this helps, also get one of those swimsuit type floats that your child wears over his whole body, the waves can be a little rough and it makes it so much easier.

Camp Carnival will take your child for as long as you wish. Late night until 300am if you want. I just got off the Miracle last week and my 5 year old had alot of fun.
