Yes,I have been to this great little island twice. It's been a couple of years since I've been there. I do suscribe to their monthly newsletter just to keep in touch. Culebra had been just a great getaway-no touristy atmosphere however I think that is changing.
If you would like more info email me.

Yes, my wife and I have been there many times. Flamenco Beach has been rated one of the best beaches in the world. And, we would have to agree. Don't expect too much touristy things to do. If you want to get away, this is the place to go. Cost about $2 to ride the ferry one-way from the embarcadero (port) in Fajardo to Culebra. Once you arrive in the Culebra you'll have to catch a van (taxi) ride to Flamenco. There's good snorkeling at Flamenco and better on the west side of the island...about a 2 mile reef along the coast.

Hi,
thanks for your respond to culebra island. from what I hear now, it is not worth going over there for an overnight? we are going to be in san juan on a friday afternoon...we wanted to ferry over to culebra for the evening and the next morning before going back to san juan saturday late afternoon, and then our cruise is on sunday...is this too much to try and do? what about motels or B&B's on the island for a night?
Thanks,
Cindy

The ferries leave in the am starting at about 7am. I believe there are 3 a day with the last one leaving about 430PM from Culebra. don't know what you like to do. ferry ride lasts a little over an hour. if you are in to snokerling or diving you might want to stay there longer. if you only want to go see it, try and rent a car while you're there and tour the island and go to the beaches. motels and b&b, the best thing to do is check out the web in fajardo--not really knowing your price range. also, count on anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to the port from San Juan.

If you haven't tried, you can find some good info on the web about culebra. but plan on an entire day or overnight if you want to go.
