D1 vs E1....Is there a big difference?

We are going to be on the EOS in April. Our travel agent has given us the opporunity to get a D1 in place of our current E1. We are on a tight budget but would be willing to spend the money if there is a significant difference.
The E1 is on Deck 8 and the D1 will be on Deck 7.
Thanks for any advice..this is our first cruise.

there is not a huge difference- have stayed in both D and E cat. rooms on voyager class ships- if you would only have to pay slightly more it might be worth it ( 10 - 20 pp) you would get about 2 more feet in length of your cabin - no width difference that i could tell and i looked at an e cat. while we stayed in a d- hope this helps

There is not much difference. The difference is only about 15 sq. ft. inside and about 3 sq. ft. outside. If there is going to be two of you, I don't think it is worth even $10 or $20 (for three it might be).
