Dawn Princess/Emerald Deck question

Hi,

We are on the Emerald deck and I can't figure out what the white area where rooms 301, 302, 303 and 304 are. Is it just a large open hallway/room?

Are there seats in that area? That seems weird to have rooms right there.

Our room in 306 and I'm happy it's on the other side of the door then.
