Dawn Princess Southern Caribbean...HELP!

Hi all, I am getting married next March, and in planning the honeymoon, am toying with the idea of back-to-back Southern Caribbean cruises via the Dawn. I received what sounds like a pretty good quote of $3926 for March 21/March28 combined (not including air) for category BC. We've been on the Princess Grand, and I'm wondering if BC cat on the Dawn is comparable to the Grand (we had midship balcony on Baja there). Also, which Puerto Rico airport is closest to the terminal? Is it easy to get around from the airport to the terminal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -- Mike

It sounds like a fantastic trip to me ! I have sailed on both the Dawn Princess and the Grand Princess several times.

I think that you will find the rooms comparable, although the balcony on the Grand may be larger.

There is a fantastic site that I use for ships comparison, and it says that BC on both ships are the same square footage, but in their depiction of the cabin, the balcony looks larger on the Grand.

Check out: <http://www.cruisestateroom.com/>

I love both the ships, but actually prefer the Dawn Princess, just due to size.

As far the airport, you will want the San Juan airport, and yes, at luggage claim, there will be a transportation person that will give you a receipt (they have fare controls in San Juan) with what you should pay and direct you to the cab line.

As far as after the cruise, I'd purchase the cruise line transfers.

Hopefully you will be able to go to San Juan at least a day early, it is one of my favorite places.

Thank you for your quick reply. Actually, we are getting married on March 20th, and the Dawn leaves the next day, so we won't be able to stay in San Juan the night before. Of course, the 11pm sail away time helps, as we can catch an afternoon flight out of Newark. Does the Dawn stack up well w/ amenities? I.e., we would probably have to do laundry. I also wonder if the menus repeat.

Ship has laundry facilities that you can use. I'd get as early flight out of Newark as possible, yes, you'll be tired, but build in as much 'leeway' for trouble as possible.

Yes, the menus will repeat.
