Has anyone gone on the Winifred day sail while in St Thomas? How did you like it? The web site looks great. We have been on the day sail with New Horizons in St Thomas and I was wanting to know how it compared. The New Horizons was a great experience but we were wanting to try something different.

We sailed on the Winifred in December and it was the best day we have had in port. Matter of fact, we have already booked it for next December! I wrote about it in my review of the Golden Princess so if you want more info, check out the review on the review section. I would highly recommend it.

We booked the Winifred last May when we were on the Grand. It was the BEST day we've ever spent in St. Thomas. Capt. Sharon and her crew do an excellent job and it is such a relaxing day. With such a few people on that beautiful wooden boat, it's SO much better than those cattle call ship excursions.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. Never really like St. Thomas until we took this trip.

We've also done the Winifred. It's great, once, but next time I'd book a catamaran if possible. It surprised me how long it took to get to St. John in a sailboat. Guess I'm used to catamarans. The only other negative was that the food was the pits, but there were many positives!

We had the Wini all to ourselves, which was really nice. Not sure if Allison is still the First Mate, but if she is, she is terrific! Make sure you tip her well. Capt. Sharon mothered us a bit too much and was overly concerned about the swift current we were swimming in, but we still had a fabulous time. The pictures we have from our daysail are some of our very best.

That's what we liked best about the Winifred - it was slow and easy going - no hurry to get anywhere. Just sat back and relaxed and enjoyed the view.

When we were on last May, the food was FABULOUS - served on china with fresh flowers. Everything was homemade and wonderful. Alison was the first mate last May and she is great.

I guarantee this will be one of your favorite excursions. We've been on 19 cruises and tons of excursions and this stands out as one of the best.

Thanks for everyone's great information. We are looking forward to sailing on the Winifred. Last time we were in St Thomas, we sailed on the New Horizon day sail. It takes off from the same place as Winifred and it was also great. It was a little longer day, gets back around 4:30 P.M. and it stopped at two different secluded beaches where the snorkeling was very good. It sails with around 10-15 people and it is a bigger boat. I would highly recommend it, we are hoping that the Winifred is just as fun.
