Hi everyone. My family is going on the Carnival Glory on December 20. Three of us have cruised before, but only once and the other 4 have never. We range in age from 25 - 29 (the daughters) and of course our parents are older. I have a few questions that I hope someone will be kind enough to answer.
1. Has anyone been on a Western Caribbean/Mexican cruise in late December, and if so, what is the weather like? We are all from Orlando, and are accustomed to tropical weather and hope this is what we will enjoy.
2. How late are the casino and clubs open? The Carnival website lists the opening times, but not the closing.
3. One of us went on Royal Caribbean and was able to purchase inexpensive bottles of booze onboard to consume in the stateroom. I have seen mentioned that Carnival does not share this same policy. Has anyone had a problem "smuggling" liquor via your checked-in luggage?
4. Any certain shore excursions that were particularly fun? A three hour "informative" bus ride just to get to the Mayan ruins excites not one of the seven of us, no matter how educational.
Thanks to anyone who has managed to get through this novella and especially anyone who feels compelled to comment.
