MSC Poesia
Three appetizing cruises through the Eastern Mediterranean.
First departure is from Venice on 15 November 2008 and from Bari on the 16th for an 11-night itinerary with stops in Corfu, Piraeus, Rhodes, Antalya, Iraklion, Tripoli, La Valletta and Naples. Arrive in Genoa on 26 November 2008.
The second departure is from Naples on 8 January 2009 and from Genoa on 9 January for an 11-night cruise, with stops in Katakolon, Piraeus, Rhodes, Alexandria, Limassol, Marmaris and Iraklion before returning to Naples and Genoa.
The third departure will be from Genoa on 27 March 2008 for a 12-day itinerary with stops in Civitavecchia, Haifa, Ashdod, Izmir, Piraeus, Dubrovnik and arrival in Venice on 7 April.
MSC Armonia
One departure from Buenos Aires on 24 January 2009 for a 9-day cruise through Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. Stops in Ilha Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Ilhabela and Punta del Este before returning to Buenos Aires.
MSC Lirica
One departure from Amsterdam on 28 August 2009 for 11 days between the North Sea and the Mediterranean, with stops in Bremerhaven, Dover, La Coruña, Lisbon, Gibraltar, Málaga, Palma de Majorca and arrival in Genoa.
MSC Melody
One departure from Genoa on 9 October 2009 for an 8-day cruise with stops at the pearls of the Italian peninsula: Portofino, Toulon, Olbia-Costa Smeralda, Tunis, Catania-Taormina, Salerno-Amalfi Coast, Ajaccio and return to Genoa.
MSC Splendida
A 12-day itinerary on board the new and fabulous MSC Cruises flagship. Departure on 26 November from Naples and the 27th from Genoa, with stops in Katakolon, Piraeus, Rhodes, Alexandria of Egypt, Marmaris, Iraklion, Messina, Naples and return to Genoa.
A paradise for epicureans and aspiring chefs is waiting on board MSC Cruises ships. The cruise program includes culinary demonstrations led by professionals who will teach guests how to prepare specialties from Italy and the countries visited during the cruise. Also unique are the "chef's advice" sessions, where experts give tips on how to cook perfect pasta, rice, meat, fish and keep foods fresh. Apart from the local, old-fashioned dishes that are always available on board MSC Poesia (departure on 15 November), thanks to the collaboration with the Unione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo aficionados can now taste specialties from some of the most famous Italian restaurants and learn the master techniques of their chefs with classes focusing on dishes from their menus.
Wine lovers will find ample opportunities to indulge their passion during wine tastings featuring high-quality wines while following the map of Italian wine cities, learning the techniques of matching wine to food and rediscovering distinctive regional gastronomic specialties. The bartender will reveal the secrets of, and ingredients for, concocting international cocktails. Guests will also receive a special wine dictionary that will help them to broaden their knowledge of the fascinating world of wine.
Liquor and cigar enthusiasts can enjoy a special moment in the Cigar Room where they can enjoy a cigar while learning the art of its production.
Particular attention will be paid to the art of hospitality with lessons on table manners thatprovide instructions on how to serve food and drink, set the table, create centrepieces and place cards, as well as how to decorate cakes and dishes.
The program also includes fun competitions and games pertaining to culinary themes: quizzes on drink names, international dishes and ingredients alternate with more creative ways to test the skills of aspiring cooks.
A grand celebration will take place every evening with a variety of delicious menus to choose from served by the onboard restaurants which include light and vegetarian dishes, desserts sweetened with fructose for diabetics and kosher specialties upon request.
