Diamond Pools...

Are the pools fresh water/heated or salt/unheated? Also, how late are they open? The only other cruise I've been on was the Mexican Riviera with Carnival. It was mid-March and the pools were unheated sea water. It wasn't that bad, as we lived in Arctic Alaska at the time and were the only ones who could stand being in the water. We had all the pools to ourselves until we reached warmer weather, but got some strange looks!

As far as I know, the pools on all of Princess Ships are fresh water, and heated. (Not TOO heated), and they are open 24/7. We have been on Regal, Crown, Star,2x, and Sun. They may be closed for cleaning each day, but for a short time only.

The pool in the spa is a nice quiet (comparatively speaking) get away. It can be accessed from the lido/sports decks, without going through the spa. This pool has one of those current pumps so you can swim against it and not have to turn around, if you want to get a little exercise. Being farther away from the lido entertainment and kind of out of the way it had fewer people, especially at night. As a matter of fact the Terrace pool (aft) was really quiet at night also.
Oh yeah, you were asking about the temperature. We found them all to be very comfortable, so they most likely were heated.

Thanks for all the helpful info @ddicts! Now I'm looking forward to this cruise even more (if that's possible). And of course, anticipation is half the fun.
