ENTERTAINMENT VENUES AND BARS:
Drink Services:
As usual on ships, coffee and tea were complimentary. If you are a big soda drinker, you can purchase a week “pass†for $22.00 that comes with a special cup and includes gratuity with unlimited refills. If you want an occasional soda, they were $1.50.
Mixed drinks were very reasonable with a “drink of the day†(usually some sort of rum punch for $3.25). Beer was about $3.50 and mixed drinks were $4.95 on the average. There was an extensive martini menu! There were drink bargains – just check your daily “Princess Patter.†A 15% gratuity was added to all drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
CASINO – Fiesta Deck 6, Foward
The Grand Casino is decorated in a “Safari theme†and quite beautiful. Overall, the space is quite larger with the usual slot and table games. There were lots of nickel slot machines which makes it nice for extended play time. As for the odds, I’d say they are pretty much the same as any casino. Lady Luck was with me as I won over $500.00 on a nickel machine playing five lines.
Princess Theater – Celebrity Showtime at 8:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. each evening. There was a variety of comedians, vocalists, and floor shows. The quality was excellent. My only problem was a comedian on the last evening that had a rather “blue†show. He made some rather racial slurs and used some rough language. Since this was the “early show†I felt his humor was “Inappropriate†since there were children in attendance and the racial jokes plain politically incorrect and wrong in any arena.
Wheelhouse Bar – Deck 7 Forward
A beautiful “Old World†setting on Deck 7 with live music from 5:00 p.m. onward.
Explorer’s Lounge – A large “safari like†lounge with two cabaret shows nightly, as well as musical entertainment.
Crooner’s Lounge – Deck 7 Midship
Music from 9:15 onwards.
Skywalkers Nightclub – Deck 18 Aft
Late night club opening at 10:00 p.m. with a different themed dance party with D.J. nightly.
Club Fusion – Dancing nightly interspersed with special events such as “Princess Idol†and various live games with the cruise staff.
Wake View Bar – Fiesta Deck 6 bar that is accessed through Club Fusion. A nice intimate bar.
Churchill’s Cigar Bar – Fiesta Deck 6 Forward
Open from 5:00 p.m. on. A “gentlemen’s bar†(that also entertains ladies) with fine cigars, ports, brandies, and malt whisky’s.
Tee Many Martoonies – Deck 7 Midship
A very “fun†martini bar!
