How early can you board the ship on the day of departure? We are sailing on the Diamond in April and would like to get on the ship as early as possible. Also we have heard there are long lines when boarding, any suggestions. Thanks!

Lynette,
We will be joining you on the 10th. I can't tell you how early we will be able to board but, we will be there about 10:30 to find out.

It varies from port to port, but it's usually between 11:30 and 12:30... not as much 11:30 lately. 10:30 is definitely not a good idea...you will be waiting for sure. The lines aren't usually long early on. If you get there before the doors open you'll wait a bit, but once that initial line goes down there's a lull until the buses get there... that's when the mad rush really begins - 1:00-3:00, then it falls way off at 3:30-4:30.

Zia, how was the weather on your cruise. We have heard that it is very cold right out of LA for the first night and then warms up when you get to Mexico? Also, were the seas very rough. We dont usually get sea-sick but may bring some meds just in case. Thanks for any info, and hope you had a wonderful time!

The weather did get warmer the closer we got to Mexico - but still quite nice. The seas were extremely calm until the last day (Friday). However, it wasn't bad - just a surprise after feeling no motion at all. It was listed as "moderate." The last day was pretty cool - not a pool day at all. My friend usually gets seasick and had the patch. However, he had a headache and decided it was because of the patch. He took it off and had no problems. I took some Bonine along, but didn't take it. I'm so jealous - you'll have a wonderful time!
