Did Carnival go green?

I heard Carnival Cruise has gone green and they no longer mail out anything, including tickets, sail information booklet, nothing. I never received anything...all I've done is complete my FUNPASS registration. I don't even have my luggage tags. Yes, I know, I'm asking this question way late.. sailing out tomorrow.. 8/10 on the Pride. Anyone else cruising tomorrow on the Pride?

The last two cruises I took I got all of my paperwork online even thought I was supposed to receive stuff in the mail. Since you are printing out all of the same documentation I wouldn't say it is a green initiative (which I think going Green is a scam anyway but that's a whole other topic ;) ) I think more to the point is that it saves them money by not having to print or pay postage to send it out. Hey if it keeps the costs down on the cruises then I can live with it but I did miss not getting my docs in the mail.

Giles612 has got it right. It's more of a $$ saving scam than going green. Be mindful that (in my experience) if you print your info out before you have them mailed it is likely you wont get them mailed. To be honest with you my only problem with that is you end up printing out your luggage tags on plain paper, easily torn off. As for the green aspect....well I think my printer prints out as much paper as they send so where is the "green" thing come in? The other thing that is a bit of a "green" irritation is to use your bath towels over again instead of having them replaced daily. Don't know about anyone else but there are parts of my body I dry with a towel that I am just NOT going to dry my face with a second time! (LOL). OK I'll settle for printing my docs but I am not reusing my towels!

Yeah, I had that same thought about the towels, I don't mind saving a hand towel, etc but the wash rags and bath towels I like to have replaced. I mean they don't ask us to use the same napkin each night at dinner. :)

I didn't receive any documents for my cruise on the Paradise in May. I was told to fill out the Funpass and present it at check in and that's all I needed. It worked out fine but I did miss getting the documents in the mail...it makes it more exciting somehow. As far as the luggage tags I thought it was strange that you print them on regular paper because I figured they'd rip easily. I covered them with clear packaging tape, kind of "laminating" them and that worked out just fine.l I taped & stapled them onto the luggage and had no problems with them ripping. As a matter of fact they were quite strong.

Do the online printed tags need to be printed in color?

About the towels: heck, they don't even dry completely in those bathrooms anyway. Who wants to dry off with a wet towel? It's especially a problem if you happen to shower in the morning, then again before dinner, after swimming in the salt water.
