school is letting out 2 hours early so the kids can get home safely. I'm sure Oliver will be thrilled.

It smells like a steakhouse in here. I just seared the beef roast and started it in the crockpot. That'll be good tonight. Need parsnips, though. Maybe I'll get those before the weather hits. They don't need as much time as the beef. It'll be good and hot by the time Koolaid gets home.

Be safe out there, all impacted by this crazy wintery weather :)

I know Lisa will like the snow.

She just wrote me, so if you hear about the green line (SUBWAY) accident in Boston , please know, that she was not in it and is safe at work right now.

Thanks for the info, Hucc. No, I hadn't heard - but I haven't been looking at/hear news.

I'm glad she's safe. I'll be at appointments most of the day, so I'm relieved to know this now...and not have to worry if I hear something later.

On a happier note, you inspired me to get some beef soup going in the crock pot a little while ago! :lol

Yes, this has been an eventful day!

It started with a trolley accident in Boston -- there were several injuries, so please keep these people (conductors and passengers) in your thoughts. Fortunately, none seem to be serious.

As for the snow -- you're right -- I love it! It's a crunchy snow with a great consistency. I actually got off the train a stop early and walked a longer distance home. I kicked my way through it, and even created a huge happy face in it "by foot." It's snowing so hard and fast that I'm sure it disappeared within minutes.

The main downside is that it's 5:40 and PizzaBoy is not home from school yet. The buses are experiencing delays, so it may be another hour until he arrives home. But, we are in touch with the school, and they are currently feeding the kids dinner and will keep them entertained until the buses arrive.

I think we have some beef stew in the freezer...

the city released kids from school 2 hours early. So, I took advantage of that and got haircuts for both Oliver and myself, before it got really messy; and to my surprise, when we got home, Koolaid was already here. Home and safe by 2 pm :)

We had a good afternoon, mainly just staying in and talking.
