We loved the Pride but didn't like the Triumph. The food on Pride was much better and in general we just liked the ship better.

We found a good deal on the Liberty. Will we like it? Is it too much like Triumph?

If your experience on the Pride was better because the food was better, then that is a result of the crew. In particular the cooks. So, based on the food, I cannot answer your question. However, if the layout of the ship is also a factor, then you will find that the Liberty is basically a bigger version of the Triumph.

It all DEPENDS ON THE COOK AND WHO THE CAPTAIN IS. The PRIDE has always had great food due to their great chefs.

Carnival is not known for serving great foods. That is why I was so surprised when I cruised on the Pride that the food was great.

Even if the food is not great on the Liberty.... I am sure you will find some tasty foods that you will like.

I just love the Caribbean cupcakes. They are sooo tasty. I also like the fried shrimp with the sweet and sour sauce on the first night of the cruise.

If all you've been on are the Triumph and the Pride, you've only been on two classes of Carnival Ships. The Liberty Is a Conquest Class ship. (Pride is a Spirit Class ship and Triumph is a Triumph Class ship.) There will be some similarities to the ships...that's just how Carnival is. However, the Conquest Class ships are larger than either the Triumph or Spirit Class ships. I don't know if you'll like it as much as the Pride...that is a personal preference thing...I prefer the Spirit Class to any other I've been on so far. However, we liked the Conquest Class ships we've been on just fine. If you found a good deal then go for it! If it turns out you don't like the Conquest Class as much as the Spirit Class at least you got a deal! As others have said, the Captain and the Chef make the difference in everything else.

Just home from Liberty last month. Best Carnival cruise outta 5. Ship looked great and the best food i have had at sea. On par with DIamond princess. Food was so freakign tasty good! THis Liberty was so much better then the Victory i sailed on. Food was way better then Fantasy and Imagination. Liberty has real cool decor. I sure lived my cruise. WHen i got to the port of miami i was able to get on the ship in 10 minutes!! arrived around 2 pm. Took 20 Mminutes to get off the ship at the end of cruise! what fun the Liberty was!

I loved that ship and really enjoyed the food. That is our personal favorite class of ship. Every time I step on-board it's like coming home again after being away for a long time and a decorated has been in and redone the place. I hear they've done away with one of my fav's Beef Wellington, that's a real shame. It melted in your mouth and was sooo tasty! Anyway I think your more than good to go! Pat

I think Pat said it the way I would - the Conquest class IS like coming home for me and my wife. We've been on all three of the aforementioned classes, including Triumph herself, and if you like her you'll love Liberty. We're booked on Liberty again for June. Don't worry - be HAPPY!

Hate to hear you didn't like the Triumph... we will be on it May 25th for 5 nights out of Charleston, SC. I know we will have a good time as we always do. Will be the first time on this class.

Every single cruise is unique onto itself. Each group of pax brings on its own collective personality. I have done back to back cruises that were very different. Not better or worse but very different. The food recipes are exactly the same on each Carnival ship, but no 2 cooks make the food exactly the same. 50 cruises, my worst one was terrific!
