Dining on Sapphire

I am getting different answers to my question on dining. Are the restaurants used for Personal Choice dining all themed in decor as well as menu? I have been told by my travel agent that if you go to the Italian themed rest. it only has Italian food on the menu, if you go to the Southwestern themed rest. only that menu, etc. Is this correct or do they all have the same menu with a few extra choice of that cuisine? I don't want to be stuck having only those choices for dinner? Has anyone been on the Sapphire that can help me with this? Thank you.

I was on the Diamond Princess which is the Sapphire's sister ship and yes the four themed restaurants each have their own menu -- but, you are also handed the menu from the International Dining room -- so, you have many options!

deb has it right!! You can eat from the "themed" dining rooms rather limited menus or choose from the traditional menu that is available in all the main dining rooms. It is my understanding that the themed dining room menus do not change nightly but remain the same through out the cruise. You can even "mix and match" your dinner from both menus.

Beryl, yes, mixing and matching was certainly allowed as the themed dining rooms had averaged about 1-2 appetizers, 3 main courses and one dessert and does in fact stay constant all week long whereas of course, the International menu changes daily.

I called Princess yesterday and was told that you can actually order anything that's on the menu in any of the dining rooms at any time (e.g., if you're in China Moon you can order Italian from the Vivaldi menu, or steak from Sterling, or whatever is on the International menu that night). She also told me that the dress for each night is the same in all the dining rooms (except the Horizon buffet, which is always casual), so you can't escape formal night if you want to be served in any of the dining venues.

The wife and I were on the Sapphire Jun 27th to Jul 4th. We did PC dining and loved it. They are correct above that the theme menus do not change. You do get the international dining room menu each night. Its fun to mix and match them. There is something about a shrimp cocktail everynight that is good. Do not miss the kahula rice pudding in the Santa Fe dining room it is way too good.

Happy Cruising
