Dining Questions - Caribbean Princess

First time cruise on Caribbean Princess in June. I have read many posts, including recent ones from passengers on CP on the "personal choice" versus traditional dining, and I am now more confused. I am also slightly nervous about some of the wait times I have read about (more than 30 minutes is too much in my opinion). Here are my questions:

1. Are menus the same regardless of dining option?

2. I assume certain dining rooms are for the traditional option and certain dining rooms are for PC option. Is this correct?

3. If you have traditional dining, does everyone show up at that specific time and basically sit down at the same time with no wait?

4. If you have personal choice should you make reservations the first day for every night to avoid long waits.

5. We have 3 kids 11, 8, and 6. Does it make more sense to take them to the buffet around 5:30 for dinner, then to the kids club so my wife and I can enjoy a nice dinner around 7:00 alone without worrying about the kids getting bored?

6. I'd like to bring my own wine to dinner on certain nights. Is this allowable? Does Princess allow wine to be brought on the ship at embarkation?

Thanks for your feedback.

1. Menus are the same in the dining rooms. Alternative restaurants have their own menus. On the new Diamond Princess, they have several "themed" (Asian, Italian, Southwest and Steakhouse) dining rooms now, but I don't think the Caribbean Princess has this.

2. Correct. On Grand class ships there are two PC dining rooms and one traditional dining room....not sure about the Caribbean.

3. If you show up a few minutes past the scheduled seating time, the doors will be open and you just go right to your table. The first night, there may be a little wait as the staff shows people where their tables are. If you show up a few minutes early, the doors are closed and a crowd will gather outside the door, which will quickly dissipate when the doors open.

4. This is a matter of preference. More and more people are making standing reservations for the whole week, for the time periods that are popular, so lately some have been complaining of longer waits.

5. Only you can tell what makes the most sense for your family. If your children tend to get bored and fidgety during lengthy meals, this might be a good option for you.

6. You can bring your own wine, but you will be charged a "corkage" fee. I think it may be $15.
