Just my opinion....... I've done both on Princess.
Traditional is a set time each day. Same waiters who will learn your preferences and make it a more personal experience. This is a good option if you must eat on a schedule. You will be seated with the same people each night, and we found this to be great because we made some new friends this way which we are still in contact with years later. We chose the later seating so that it wouldn't interfere with port times.
With PC, we never made reservations. We just showed up when we were hungry. Now this was in 2002 and I'm hearing that things have changed, but back then we never waited more than 2 minutes for a table. Port times won't interfere with this option. We met many more people this way, and as the week went on, we felt like we had friends all over the place. However, I dont think the service was as good... certainly wasnt as personal. Thats not a huge issue for us, as long as we get a hot meal prepared the way we requested it. To me, it was easier to throw dinner in whenever we wanted instead of planning shows and activities around our dinner time.
We've had great experiences both ways, so it will be a hard choice next time. But I think I will lean towards the PC again.
