Dinner seating on Carnival

Hey everyone,

I am going to be sailing on my first cruise on July 29, 2007 on the Valor with my girlfriend. I was reading some forums and noticed some people talking about having late dinner time and seating for 2. Is this true and if so how can I change my seating from a table of 8 to a table of 2?

Thanks,

Nic

See the MaitreD at the time/place noted in the Capers [daily schedule] that'll be in your cabin upon embarkation. They'll do their best to help

Late dinner seating is often the most requested, so if you didn't request it at the time of your booking, it may be difficult to get switched once you are onboard.
But you will probably be in luck with getting a private table for two. Just speak with the MaitreD at the first possible opportunity, I'm sure he will be able to hepl you. Also, don't forget to tip the MaitreD on the formal night or on the last night at dinner to say "thank you" if he was able to arrange a private table for you and your girlfriend.

Since you're not sailing for over two months yet, I'd try asking your travel agent to make the change for you now.

If she can't arrange it now, then seeing the Maitre'D once on board can be your back up plan.

I agree that you should talk to your travel agent right away about this. If you have to see the Maitre'd then that should be the first thing you do when you get on the ship. That along with any spa/salon appointments you want to make should be done when you first board. You sometimes have quite a wait when seeing the maitre'd and many of the spa/salon appointments are booked up quickly.
