Dinner seating times - which is better for a 20something crowd?

So my 3 college girlfriends (4 single girls age 27ish) and I are going on Liberty in 2 weeks and we've signed up for the early seating. We were thinking this would give us time for dinner to settle before having some drinks at night. But now i'm hearing people tell me that the early seating has too many screaming kids and the late seating is better for our type of crowd to sit and have wine and cocktails, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions? I dont mind families but if there's a major difference, we might be inclined to switch. It's always fun to meet and be around people in your age group if possible.

Thoughts!?

I agree that late seating is better...............families with kids tend to eat early..............you'll have plenty of time to have drinks later on,trust me!!

Being only two weeks out, you're probably OBE. (Overcome By Events) Odds are the seatings are already made and being able to change now will be difficult.

Maitre d' on embarkation day may be able to help change the reservation though.

I heard that, PH.....had to turn up my hearing aid to do so though......it's hard to do when I'm holding onto a walker.

Hmm - thanks guys! My first forum post....glad I got a response! So I guess it's not a huge deal....do you think it makes enough of a difference that we should try to go thru the trouble of changing (if even possible?)

Also - completely different topic but do you guys know which night are formal? We're going on the Libery 7 day trip to Labadee, Ocho Rios, Cozumel and Cayman. I know for the Cozumel stop, we're taking the trek over to Tulum so there's no way we'll make dinner (if we keep the early seating). Dont' want to pack 2 formal dresses if i'm sure to miss one. Just curious!

Go ahead and pack the second formal. If you're normal, you'll overpack anyway :lol Anyway, anytime you don't get back in time for first seating, simple do a walk-in at second seating, and ask the Maitre d' Hotel for any available seats. It should not be a problem, as there are always couples who don't show. And it's a great way to make some new friends!

haha well in that sense...i am more than normal. I've already weighed the cost of bringing one bag that's guaranteed to be over 50lbs or 2 smaller ones. For anyone curious - it's cheaper to bring 2 bags under 50bls (1st is $15 and 2nd is $25) than to bring 1 that exceeds 50lbs ($50) not a big difference but if you dont mind lugging 2 bags you can bring lots more clothing options! (And as I mentioned, we're 27 year old girls so you know we need options!)

Hit the local Goodwill or Salvation Army resale shop. Bet you can find plenty of gowns and prom dresses in the under $15 range. A couple minor alterations (maybe? - maybe not)?) and you have a great formal outfit. And, if worse comes to worse, and you spill that Burgandy down the front. Trash it. Cheaper than major cleaning, and you have extra room/weight for more souviners!
