Dis-embarking

I was wondering all you seasoned cruisers if you could answer for me the following ? I have heard you can sometimes self dis-embark and keep your luggage with you . I was wondering if anyone thought this was worth it? We are driving to the port and don't have a flight to catch.... I am mixed on the idea part of me says get my stuff and go another part says why rush it and hassle myself trying to get my stuff off the ship just sit back and wait.

I would not try to carry all my luggage off the ship. I like to linger on deck, have some coffee and danish and watch everyone getting off the ship. I don't mind lingering on board a little longer.

Especially because you are driving to the port you will not be in any rush to get off the ship. I would recommend against doing self disembarking. Just take it easy on the last morning and have a nice leisurely breakfast in the Windjammer Cafe.

In fact try not to think about disembarkation day! That's the worst part of the cruise! :lol

I personally have never tried to lug all my own luggage off the ship. To me it's not worth the hassle.
If you are driving, unless you have a very long drive ahead of you, I think personally I would relax, have a nice breakfast, sit back and let the mob go ahead. It's nice to relax the last morning instead of being uptight and stressed about trying to get off the ship. :wave

Although a great idea, it may have reached saturation point. When we disembarked in March, the self-serve line was still backed up, we passed by thse folks, got a porter and were out the door while that line hardly moved.
