Hi, I just joined to this forum because we are getting ready to cruise March 17 on the Triumph. I guess the regular crew see alot of folks come and go here. I will probably be the same way, I can't tell a lie. So I am hoping to read some good experiences and get some tips before we sail.

We qualified for a Interline rate because my wife works for American Airlines. We are taking our two sons 9 and 11 plus my oldest son who is 26. The booking agent put all five of us in a cabin on the Riviera deck. I hear those cabins can be 195 sq. ft. big/small? The Agent told us to split up into two cabins would cost a lot more. Is there any way to get an upgrade to two cabins? Has this ever happened to anyone? ALso back to the subject I started here. The ship returns March 24, Sat. I have to get home becasue I have a busines trip I have to leave for, so I booked a flight out of Miami for 11:15. It was the only flight to get me home on Saturday. I did record this flight when I filled out the Fun Pass. Will that make any difference, if not how can I get off he ship and to the airport in time?

At some point (the earlier the better), make a point to go to the purser's office and inform them that you have an early flight requiring you to debark the ship early. They will arrange for you to have priority debarking.

There is also the self debarkation where you carry your own bags off the ship.

None, other than paying for it.

Hello done487, Welcome to CruiseAddict's.

Are you by any chance, missing a post? I saw it, a few days back and answered it for you, but I have a feeling you never got to see the answer, because it somehow disappeared from this page, and reappeared on the Windstar page. =shrug (I have no clue how that happened.)

Oh well, look there if you're still interested. Unfortunately, it's too late for you to take my advice, which was to book a later flight. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to make that 11:15 one.

Like I said in my answer to that other post, we will be on the Triumph in less than two weeks. So, for whatever it's worth, I'll try to remember to take note of what time debarkation starts, and I let you know when we get back.

Now about that cabin: yes that will seem small. Actually, for two people I would consider it a nice sized cabin. Carnival cabins do tend to run larger than similar type cabins on other lines. BUT, for five people, that's going to be a tight fit.

Actually, I'm surprised that they will put five people in those cabins. I took a look at the Riviera deck's deck plans, and wondered which cabin you're in, as none seem be capable of holding that many people ?

Again, my advice is, if you can swing it, two cabins would probably be worth your money. Even if the close quarters don't bother you, just having the second bathroom would be worth it.

Hello done487 , Well we just got home from the Triumph a couple hours ago and I took note of the debarkation timing for you.

The walk off passengers (those carrying all their own luggage by themselves were allowed to start leaving at 7:45 am this morning. They weren't all gone until about 9:00 am, when the calling of the tag colors started.

They use the same tags for debarkation as for boarding. So you don't need to retag. First tag called today was pink. We were yellow, the sixth color called, and didn't get called until 10:00 am.

That would have been fine, but Customs got bogged down just then, so they halted everything for a while. So with that delay we didn't get to leave the port until well after 11:00. Considering all the security and checking in at the airport we managed to arrive at our gate with only five minutes to spare before boarding was called on our 1:05pm flight. (And that was even being allowed by the Continental people, to bypass part of the check in line because of how late it was.)

That 7;45 start time seemed really early to everyone on the ship. And it seem like a great start. But, like I said, it all bogged down after that. Also, as I said, we were the sixth color called. There were probably 15 to 18 colors altogether. The majority of the people were still waiting when we left.

By the way, the purser's desk people were not inclined to let us have an earlier call color, when I asked. They said we'd have no problem catching our one o'clock flight, so we used the tag color we boarded with. I would not consider a mere five minute leeway, and needing special help to by pass lines as being "no problem".

Much too stessfull for me. In the future we will be booking our flight at two pm or later, even if I have to sit in the airport for hours waiting for it.
