Displaced off Princess, Sailing Spirit

I was one of the passengers given two weeks notice that my Coral Princess Holiday Cruise was cancelled, due to problems with the ship, discovered at sea trials.
So luckily I stumbled onto the Spirit sailing to two of the ports I was going to anyway. With Panama being the reason in the first place for the idea for the original cruise, I was damn lucky to find it.
You can imagine 1000 cabins needing to be replaced at Christmas week!!!!
The reason for the post is even though I have side by side cabins they are not connecting.
Question # 1 Will/can they open the divider on the balcony between rooms?
Question # 2 If they won't does anyone know what sort of fasteners are used on these dividers so I can bring the proper tool to do it myself, ie. allen, square drive, nuts ect. I would only open it when we were in the cabins for a substantial period of time and secure it when we left.
When I found this ship there were two pairs of cabins available, one pair connected and one pair didn't. So I tried to buy the connecting pair but someone bought it's mate as I was buying the first. So I quickly bought the non-connecting pair and would like the option if possible. Thanks, Scott

If the balconies are accessable to each other there will be a door that the cabin steward can open for you. If there is not a door, each panel will depend on the one next to it for support, so it is not an option to take parts out, besides you would probably have an engineering officer knocking at your door if it were noticed, which it probably would be.

I have cruised on the Sprit once and will cruise on it again in Fen 2003. The dividers between the balconies can be opened. You room stewart can make arrangements
for you. It is very simple to do. I agree with bOB, don't do this yourself.

I sailed on The Pride a couple weeks ago having booked side by side cabins hoping to open the balconies as you mentioned. The cabin steward informed me they no longer allow the opening of these dividers by guests due to breakage (made of glass) while underway. It was a dissapointment and I guess I should post a message re: this matter.
