Hi all...If my ship, Pearl, returns and docks at 7:00AM at Dante port in Miami and my flight is at 11:35AM (Miami Airport). Do I have enough time to catch the flight?

If I don't have enough time, my alternative flight is at 5:45PM...what can we do with this much time before flying back? Where to store the luggages if we want to hang out in Miami for several hours?

How far from the port to Miami airport? What the cost for taxi for 4?

sorry for too many questions.
thanks

If all goes smooth and not one hiccup it will be possible to make 11:35 flight home. Once you land buy a lottery ticket too. :) If you do attempt this then carry your own luggage off the ship. Do not put any of it outside your door the night before.

Reality speaking you dont have a lot of time. If you dont book the 11:35 you can take your time getting off the ship. Check to see how many other ships will be in port that day.http://www.cruisecal.com/portal/Miami,Florida/tabid/1617/Default.aspx Add that many people to the MIA airport dealing with security.

I have no clue how much a taxi will be, but will luggage for 4 people fit in the trunk of one taxi?

Another thought is book the 5:45 and IF everything goes smooth go stand by.

no apology for the questions, that is why we are here. Please make sure they are stupid questions as those are easy to answer. Intelligent ones are difficult to answer and makes us think and that could be very dangerous.

YOu should have no problem making an 11:35 flight. You'll probably be off the ship no later than 9am. Though the Miami airport is ok, I don't see spending a whole day there, and I wouldn't try to do anything else before your flight.

From the Miami port websight "Taxi Service:
Taxicabs are available at all terminals. The flat rate fare between Miami International Airport and the Port of Miami is $24.00."

There is not much to do around the airport area. I highly recommend you visit south beach, very touristic, lots of restaurants and stores, beach, or you can hang out at Bayside, which is really close to the port, but probably not a good idea since you will have luggage. The taxi ride will be approx. 20-30 minutes from the port to the airport, please note that traffic starts getting heavy at around 3:30 pm so give yourself enough time.
A taxi ride will cost you about $35+

Most cruise lines offer a shore excursion after debarkation in which you see the sights of Miami, your luggage is on the bus with you, and they drop you off at the airport, luggage and all a few hours later. This way you wouldn't have to worry about luggage storage, how many taxis you would need to haul everything, or renting a car to be able to see the sights.

For an 11:45 dpmestic flight you still have to be at the AP 1 to 1 1/2 hours early. That means 10 am. Still think you can make it?
