Do the ship's officers dine with the passengers?

I was just wondering if there were particular cruise lines or ships where the ship's officers dine with the passengers. When I cruised on Princess in Personal Choice dining this didn't happen. Anybody have any info???

I didn't see notice any officers in the dining room on the Sea Princess, but on the Royal, the officers were quite visible and dined with passengers on several nights.

Usually the only dining I have seen with officers has been at the Capitains table. Most of the time on our Princess cruises we have seen the staff eating in the buffet area which probablt fits their schedules better as most of them do NOT have 2 hours to take a break.

On Princess....the Captain's table is in the Traditional dining room, not the PC dining rooms. I have seen an occasional ship's officer dine with passengers, but usually that is in place of the Captain for some reason.

It is not a usual occurance but when curcumstances dictate an officer may be seated at your table. On the Regal Princess between Yokohama and San Francisco our table mates were the ship's doctor and her parents - charming people.
